Joint Restriction

in the spine and pelvis produce an immediate alteration in the client’s structure. These alterations can include such patterns as leg-length discrepancy and changes in pelvic inclination. They also produce localized inflammation, edema and pain. Compensations can develop throughout the body in an attempt to avoid pain. These compensations can mislead the practitioner’s assessment, wasting valuable session time, prolonging pain and delaying integration.

Spinal Mobilization

Using Structural Algorithms you will be able to immediately identify specific pelvic, spinal and rib restrictions. You will learn muscle energy technique to use the bodies reflexes to manipulate the spine. With Structural Algorithm you will quickly:

1. Release the restrictions

2. Reduce pain

3. Remove compensations

4. Reveal the primary structural pattern

5. Increase your practice by increasing your skill set

Algorithms

are analytic tools used throughout healthcare to improve quality by increasing accuracy in treatment while saving valuable time.

Structural Algorithms were developed by consolidating osteopathic technique with the theories and principles of Structural Integration.

Easy to Learn and Use

The algorithm begins with a  simple movement test which has a simple positive or negative result.  That result directs the practitioner to a specific palpation test which identifies the joint restriction. The algorithm then leads you to the procedure which will resolve the restriction. All of these restrictions can be resolved in 15 to 25 minutes. This will greatly reduce or eliminate the pain, and compensations while enhancing the process of Structural Integration. All of this without having to be an expert in spinal mechanics.

John is a graduate of The Osteopathic College of Ontario, The Rolf Institute®, and the Louisiana State University School of Nursing. He began his career in orthopedics and emergency nursing and for the last 31 years, he has had a robust Structural Integration practice in New Orleans.

John taught dance kinesiology at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. In 2004, he began teaching spinal mobilization using muscle energy technique to structural integrators. Eight years later. inspired by his Emergency Department experience, where life often depends on speed and precision, John began developing and teaching Structural Algorithms in 2012.

John is the author of the manual series Joint Restrictions in Structural Integration. These texts present his simple and effective algorithms for the assessment and treatment of joint restrictions in the axial skeleton.
